Before any file reaches any platform, it is stored in your own cloud storage bucket — permanently, in original uncompressed quality. You own the master. The platforms receive a copy.
The Content Ownership Problem
When you upload a video to Instagram, YouTube, or LinkedIn, the platform stores it on their infrastructure, re-encodes it to their specifications, and compresses it for their delivery network. When you need that video back — for a re-edit, an archive, a compliance record — retrieving it cleanly requires third-party tools, produces watermarked output, and returns a compressed file.
Beam separates storage from publishing. Every video uploaded through Beam is stored in your own S3-compatible bucket — Cloudflare R2 or Bagful Object Storage — before distribution. Your original file stays in your infrastructure. Always.
